Reserve Shiraz
Wine
Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz, first produced in 1994, was the forerunner in developing Fox Creek's reputation. It is made only in the best years, in small quantities.
The fruit draws from a selection of premium McLaren Vale blocks. Among them is a patch of gnarly old bush vines planted in 1910 known for its concentrated flavours.
Fermentation occurs on skins for 8-10 days before the wine is transferred to barrel to complete the process. This adds texture and better integrates the oak and grape tannins.
Each vineyard batch is matched with the oak that produces the most complex and complete wine possible. The parcels age for 20 months in barrel. The best comprise the final blend.
Intense deep garnet, Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz is a full bodied wine with dark fruit flavours. It finishes with great balance and elegance, characterized by firm tannins.
An outstanding McLaren Vale Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
